Since 1965, Boonah State High School has been proudly serving the Fassifern community, growing alongside it to become the dynamic and inclusive school it is today. Starting with just 225 students and a single building, the school has evolved into a thriving educational hub with an enrolment of 600 students.
The school officially opened on March 22, 1965, on its current site. The first building, now known as A Block, was constructed in late 1964 and early 1965 at a cost of approximately 51,000 pounds. What began as a lone structure in a former cow paddock has transformed into a modern facility, reflecting the growth and progress of our school and community.
Today, Boonah State High School boasts a range of excellent facilities, including:
- Assembly hall
- Administration block
- Industrial Technology and Design block
- Home Economics block
- Art block
- Flexible Learning Centre
- Swimming pool
- Multimedia centre
- Tuckshop with a learnscape
- Science block
These facilities support a diverse curriculum for students from Years 7 to 12, offering opportunities for academic, cultural, sporting, and community success.
At the heart of Boonah State High School is the strong community spirit that has been its foundation since the very beginning. This enduring connection continues to shape the school’s identity and success, making it a cornerstone of the Fassifern region.
