The Library offers a welcoming environment which supports teaching and learning with areas for reading, research and study. Students are supported in developing their inquiry skills enabling them to become information literate critical thinkers and life-long learners in this complex information rich and interconnected world.
The Library provides access to:
A wide range of fiction and non-fiction books and digital resources which cater for differing learning needs and styles and support the curriculum, students’ interests and recreational reading needs. Suggestions for resources are welcome. The resources are also available to the wider school community.
Spaces that support collaborative learning, quiet reading, individual reflection and study during class time and breaks. During class time, students can come to the Library either individually or as part of a class with their teacher. Students who do not have their own laptops are provided for. Students with Traineeships have their spares in the Library to catch up on any school work they have missed.
Three teaching/learning areas, fifteen desktop computers, wireless network coverage, data projectors, a photocopier, scanner, printers, and audio visual equipment.
Staffing
Staff are available to support to all members of the school community in meeting their resource and information needs. Research assistance is provided and a love of reading is encouraged.
Opening hours
The Library is open from 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday and during both breaks.
